Service for Life

"For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them."       Psalm 139: 13-16

"With Liberty and Justice for All...
                                 ...Born and Unborn"

For those who know the Knights, know that this is the way we end the Pledge of Allegience: "with liberty and justice for all, born and unborn."  The Knights were founded  in part to eliminate the perception that Catholics, with their allegience to the Pope, could  not be loyal citizens of their country.

The fourth of the Four Principles of the Knights is the principle of Patriotism. Knights are proud members of their country, be it the United States, Mexico, the Phillipines, or another country where the Knights are established. In the U.S. we believe passionately in liberty and justice for all. We believe, however, that that dignity of life extends to all stages of life - from the moment of conception to the last breath of life. We believe that because not only is it revealed to us in Sacred Scripture, but also because science itself tell us it to be true!

As Knights, we believe that what we know as the truth, must be defended in action. Faith without works, as St. Paul tells us, is dead.  So we defend life through action.  Council 8659 puts our faith in the sanctity of life into concrete action: prayer, protest, politics. Join us in this critical mission - to passionately defend the defenseless!

The Sancity of Life
The Mystery of Life
The undenialble humanity of the unborn child
by Hashem Al-Ghaili
Hashem Al-Ghaili is a Yemeni man who lives in Germany and works as an independent “influencer” primarily through his popular Science Nature Page on Facebook.  This work illustrates the entire process of fertilization, implantation, development, and birth.

Despite preborn babies being fully alive and human from the start of pregnancy, displaying most of the secondary characteristics associated with life by the end of the first trimester, and being able to feel pain by 20 weeks (and potentially earlier), abortion is effectively legal through all nine months in the United States and Canada.

We must each do our part to defend the unborn!

Pro-Life Stations of The Cross
Created by Council 8659 Knight, Barry Doherty
Featuring the powerful Stations of The Cross, created by Polish artist Jerzy Duda Gracz, juxtaposed with contemporary images of young pregnant mothers, these 12 Stations take us through the suffering of Christ as his burden of the cross is carried today in the struggle of women and their unborn children, faced with the evil of abortion. These powerful reflections and prayers allow us to enter the mystery of Christ's suffering present today.

Our council is currently in the process of producing a production of these stations with recorded audio and musical accompaniment.

" I came that they may have life"
At the dawn of salvation, it is the Birth of a Child which is proclaimed as joyful news: "I bring you good news of a great joy which will come to all the people; for to you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord" (Lk 2:10-11). The source of this "great joy" is the Birth of the Saviour; but Christmas also reveals the full meaning of every human birth, and the joy which accompanies the Birth of the Messiah is thus seen to be the foundation and fulfilment of joy at every child born into the world (cf. Jn 16:21).

When he presents the heart of his redemptive mission, Jesus says: "I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly" (Jn 10:10). In truth, he is referring to that "new" and "eternal" life which consists in communion with the Father, to which every person is freely called in the Son by the power of the Sanctifying Spirit. It is precisely in this "life" that all the aspects and stages of human life achieve their full significance."
